A good way to keep your computer healthy and running smoothly is to perform routine maintenance tasks. There are numerous utilities available on the Internet, but you will end up with a large number of programs installed on your computer. Instead of installing a different tool for each type of action, you can use Windows Doctor. It comes with multiple features, including a registry cleaner, a temporary files eraser, a system optimizer and more. You can use the software to clean up your system from top to bottom and the best part is that you will work on a single interface.

Installing the software on a Windows powered computer is not a lengthy process. The setup file is not large and you will have to go through basic settings, like selecting a destination folder or selecting shortcuts. The software works on Windows 2000 or any higher version and it is not too demanding when it comes to system requirements.

The utility includes a system booster, a registry and a privacy cleaner, as well as a system security tool. These features will scan and clean various locations on your system and you can target them on separate pages, which can be accessed by clicking a series of buttons, on the upper edge of the interface. Before starting the system booster, you can select certain optimization tasks, for hardware, the system, applications, services, network or Internet Explorer. After making your selection, you may click a button, in the lower right corner of the window and the software will start analyzing. When it is done, it will list a series of actions, which can be selected with check boxes. Clicking the Optimize button will execute the selected tasks.

The remaining features work the same way. You will have to select various items, on the left side of the interface, start a scan or analysis and click a button to clean or repair. The system security analyzer will scan your system, its software and more for vulnerabilities and it will fix them. The registry cleaner lets you target a wide range of locations in the Windows registry and the privacy cleaner makes it possible to erase temporary files and other junk data left behind by Windows, web browsers or other applications.

Before erasing junk files, you can select files that were created by the system, browsers or applications separately. The items are displayed in different tree menus and you can switch from one to another by clicking the buttons above the menu. Advanced tools are available as well. They include a data recovery utility, a disk cleaner and analyzer, tools for copying, splitting or shredding files and more.

Pros

Windows Doctor can be used for a large variety of maintenance tasks. It can erase your temporary files, clean up the Windows Registry, optimize numerous aspects of your operating system and more. The utilities are organized in their own sections, so it is not difficult to find and use them.

Cons

A schedule feature would have been useful. Fixing registry problems, optimizing the system and cleaning up the hard drive are just a few of the Windows Doctor's capabilities. It provides all the maintenance tools you need.
